Empower partners with University of Rwanda, EAC RCE-VIHSCM
Empower signs MoU with the University of Rwanda, the EAC RCE- VIHSCM (East African Community Regional Centre of Excellence for Vaccines, Immunization and Health Supply Chain Management) for Digital Learning and Capacity Building in Access to Medicines and Supply Chain
3rd September 2019 Empower & University of Rwanda, the EAC RCE-VIHSCM announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a long-term partnership. The agreement was signed by Prof. Paul Lalvani, Managing Director of Empower and Prof. Philip Cotton, Vice Chancellor, University of Rwanda.
The document lays down the scope and objectives in order establish a framework and terms of a long-term coordination in identified areas of partnership which include:
- Capacity Building (Classroom & Online) through jointly conducting courses in Supply Chain and Access to Medicines, Public Health, PSM, Quality, Humanitarian Logistics, Operations Management, Global Health Leadership etc.
- Co-certification & accreditation of courses including Post Graduate Diplomas, various Certificate and Short-Term Professional Courses
- Strengthening UR/RCE-VIHSCM initiatives by leveraging Empower’s expertise in digital learning solutions
University of Rwanda is a public higher learning institution hosting the EAC Regional Centre of Excellence for Vaccines, Immunization and Health Supply Chain Management (EAC RCE-VIHSCM), which has a mandate to build capacity of health professionals involved in supply chain management and its core functions include research and training, resource centre and technical assistance, expertise and advisory.
